Guest sam Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Got an older Brother laser printer attached to the USB port running XP Pro SP2. When we first boot up, printer works great. But during the course of a day, with the PC going into and out of Hibernate mode due to disuse, soon we can no longer print. Documents sit in the print queue showing Error status. Can't even print a test page. So ... ShutDown-Restart and all is well again. What must we change to make this printer findable when coming out of Hibernate mode??

Open Device Manager, open the properties on USB Root Hub, click the Power tab, and deselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". -- Joe =o)
