I have reinstalled windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 on my Inspiron

6000. I did not save anything, so I am starting fresh. I am unable to access

the internet. What is wrong? I can't play videos or cd's because it is

telling me that I have no sound device. I go and check, and it tells me it is

working. I just need to get the internet up and going so I can download any

drivers required. I have a second computer which is my main desktop, and I am

running a wireless device - Wireless-G 2.5 Broadband Router. Your most

sencere help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

After you installed your operating system, you needed to go to Dell's

website for your Inspiron 6000 and download/install all the drivers and

laptop-specific software. Get these files from your other computer and

transfer to your Inspiron.

Using the computer you have that can access the internet, visit

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INS_PNT_6000&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid

and download the communication and network drivers. Burn the

files to a CD, then copy to your Dell PC and install them.
