Guest Joe Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 My machine running XP Pro SP3 is set to go on standby S3 after about 15 minutes. Usually I can wake it up with no trouble, but lately it seems upon that wake up call I have lost my internet connection. For years this machine was fine configured like I mentioned and it never failed to maintaint the connection. What's gone wrong now? Thank you all, Joe

The other machine is in another room and that one is wireless and that seems fine. The KB article seems to address only wireless connections. Sorry I didn't tell you guys that to start with. Joe

Whether it's wireless or not, the solution can be the same; don't allow [the NIC, Ethernet card, USB port, whatever connects the computer to the modem/router] to be turned off while in Standby mode. -- Joe =o)
