Guest zuoer Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Dell doesn't want people to get XP pro as downgrade rights from Vista Business... I have a friend on the phone and she is in tears.. she hates vista (and with very good reason) and I told her that if she gets vista business and ultimate dell can install XP pro on her computer as downgrade rights. Apparently the dell employee insists that dell cannot do that UNLESS someone buys one of a couple of computers from them that they have included this option... the models are: Dell systems that are part of the downgrade rights program are: Latitude laptops, OptiPlex desktops and Dell Precision workstations Dell Vostro laptops and desktops Dell Gaming systems - the XPS 630 desktop and XPS M1730 laptop (Note - Vista Ultimate is the only DGR OS option for these systems) this is sick.... Dell is kissing Microsofts butt with this stupid policy. Pushing vista on to people who hate it! I would tell her to f@ck dell and get it from somewhere else! If they use the downgrade rights themselves on the Dell computer of their choice, to install XP the warrantee is VOID!!! Vista stinks and no one wants it, yet its being forced down the throats of so many people. PS. frank stinks too just like vista

Install XP Pro (assuming there are drivers for that Dell system). When there is a warranty issue, put back in the hard disk with Vista. -- Dave http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html Multi-AV - http://www.pctipp.ch/downloads/dl/35905.asp

It may NOT BE POSSIBLE to install XP on her model machine. When you told her she had automatic downgrade rights, you may have been wrong and ruined her life.
