NTbackup SystemState

Hi,

I just want to confirm that when I use NTbackup and check the tree option

for SystemState (BU set is on tape or another hard drive), that the system

state is included in the actual backup and not just backed up (copied) to

the local system32/config folder.

I am pretty sure the answer is yes, but I dont want to assume and find out

that I am wrong when I need it!

Thanks

Yes, it is included. However, you're still not on safe ground. An

untested backup is almost the same as no backup at all. If you

want to sleep well then you must perform a full restore to a spare

disk, keeping detailed notes while you do it.

I would actually use an imaging program such as Acronis TrueImage

to back up a system partition. Much, much easier to restore than with

ntbackup.exe.
