I have a Windows 2003 server running low on disk space for the C drive. I've

already cleaned out my temp files and any other thing I can think of. Under

the Windows directory I see a folder titled ServicePacksFiles which contain

the I386 folder and a folder called ServicePackCache. Can I move this folder

to another drive on the same server without casuing any problems to my

server? This would free up over 700Mbs.

Re: Moving ServicePackFiles Folder

Hello RAZ,

If you are sure that there is no need to uninstall patches, you can remove

the KBxxxxxx uninstall files. Also you can remove the C:\windows\softwaredistribution

folder after stopping the automatic update service, will be recreated after

starting the service. This is often also very big.

With servicepackfiles folder i never played around. Maybe it is needed if

you run a check/repair for system files with sfc command.

Best regards
