Guest SP_1 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Hi The list below shows the CDs that I received after ordering Windows SBS 2003 R2 Premium Edition. CDs 8, 9, & 10 are pretty self-explanatory. I need help on finding out information on CDs 1 through 7. -With which CD do I start the installation ? -It looks like there are 2 sets of CDs (1 to 2, and 3 to 6). What is the significance of CD1 vs. CD3 ? -Do I use one set over the other ? Or, do I use both ? -What exactly does CD7 do ? When do I need it ? Can someone help explain these ? Thank you Steve CD Part No. End Item Part No. Label 1. X12-97168 T75-01360 Small Business Server 2003 R2 Premium Edition Premium Technologies - Disc 1 2. Guest Gary S. Terhune Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Re: SBS CDs Sorry I didn't answer the rest of your questions. The install order would be (using your numbers) first 3 through 7, then 1 & 2 if you want those technologies installed. (I forget, they're whatever makes Premium Edition Premium Edition -- ISA Server, for one.) The Outlook disc is for installing on clients of the Exchange Server. Make copies, store the original. Front Page is best installed on the client wherever the person in charge of maintaining the Company Page sits. And I can hear a distant MVP shouting, "USE THE WIZARDS!!! LET THE WIZARDS DO IT!!!" Having since installed SBS twice, I strongly recommend you follow that rule and try real hard not to tweak things the way your would a Desktop or stand-alone Server. It may look like Windows Server 2003, but it ain't. Not exactly. If I were a praying man, I'd pray for you. I wish you success! -- Gary S.
