Guest lenny Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Hi, I had a client logging on from a PC to the Server with a Roaming Profile (a mistaken setup) but have now stopped that. What files can I delete safely to free up space that were added because of the roaming profile but will not affect the clients work when logging on as a thin client now.

Probably all of them, depending on how you configured him. Use the standard method: Move the lot to some other location, then wait a few weeks until you're sure that all is well before deleting them.

In control panel, system, profiles/advanced, you should be able to see & delete the cached profile. Either that or use delprof from the resource kit.
Guest Jeff Pitsch Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Re: what roaming profile files can i delete? I would follow this suggestion with one caveat. Download the latest and greatest from the Microsoft's download site and then you can create a scheduled task that will automatically delete profiles if they are X amount of days old (X being whatever number you fill in ).
