Guest smallbizguy Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Our Windows 2003 server randomly shuts down. It happens approx 3 to 4 times per week usually at night. No helpful messages in the event viewer. One thing that I have found strange is that when you select Restart on the server the server shuts down and when you select Shut Down the server restarts. I have already replaced the memory but that did not help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Guest Dave Patrick Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Re: Server shuts down randomly If no BSOD's occur (Event ID: 1001 Source: Save Dump), then it may be a power problem. I would look at a possible faulty (or undersized) pc power supply, UPS, bad battery, or the circuit feeding the outlet that the pc is plugged into. -- Regards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup.
