Guest stainless45 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Windows XP Pro - SP 2 Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41) This is the code error that I get when I look at the properties of my newly installed DVD burner / reader. This is an USB wired external unit. I got the same message when I purchased an internal model. I took that one back and purchased the USB one - since ALL my USB items work! I've installed / un-installed multiple times, the PC fires up and plug & play "sees" the DVD player using USB, but then it dissapears! The DVD player is powered up, and will except a CD - but just sits there. Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)
