How can I get the PnpID off an Compact Falsh Card? I have a card reader

connected to my desktop - I insert the card, look at properties, Device

Manager ... can't find the pnpID. The card shows up OK in Explorer, can

look at the content, do whatever, everything is working fine. I just need

the PnpID for another application. Thanks!

A CF card in a card reader does not present a device ID,

only the card reader does. You find its ID in the device

manager under 'Disks'. But the ID stays the same when

the card is changed.

If the CF card is directly attached to IDE, then the

disk's ID changes with the card.

Humm, so I'm out of luck then. There are no utilities out there that I

could use to get the PnpID off that card then, none that you know of?

Thanks, have a nice day.

No, I think it's just impossible thru an USB card reader.
