Guest Nick Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 I have 2003 TS. I have configured idle & disconnect time to 30 minutes using GPO. For laptop power consumption I set the laptops to go to sleep after 10 minutes. As soon as the laptops go to sleep the server ends the session and when the user goes to log back onto the TS a new session is created. I would like for these sessions to disconnect not end. The WLAN driver does not turn off when the laptop sleeps.
Guest Jeff Pitsch Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Re: Client Sleep - Ending session immediatly What is your server setting configured for when a sessions is dropped/disconnected? Guest Nick Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Re: Client Sleep - Ending session immediatly Thank you for your reply. I did finally figure it out yesterday. In my opinion Microsoft was a little missleading with this particular GPO. TS Config : Properties - Session Tab The setting for "When the session limit is reached or connection is broken" you have 2 options. Disconnect or end session. GPO Window: The GP isn't a complete Policy/Question/Statement" which grays-out the options above in TS Config. "Terminate session when time limits are reached" To me that is referring to the previous GPO policy settings (Disconnect, Active, Idle) times. Also it doesn't specify if connection is broken. I changed this to Not Configured and changed the TS Config option to disconnect. I'm getting the exact results I was looking for. Thanks again Nick "Jeff Pitsch" wrote: > What is your server setting configured for when a sessions is > dropped/disconnected? > > Jeff Pitsch > Microsoft MVP - Terminal Services > > "Nick" <Nick@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:A3AC4390-06A1-4A2A-AFB5-618D33450C78@microsoft.com... > >I have 2003 TS. > > > > I have configured idle & disconnect time to 30 minutes using GPO. > > > > For laptop power consumption I set the laptops to go to sleep after 10 > > minutes. > > As soon as the laptops go to sleep the server ends the session and when > > the > > user goes to log back onto the TS a new session is created. > > > > I would like for these sessions to disconnect not end. > > > > The WLAN driver does not turn off when the laptop sleeps. > > >
