ylind Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 1. How do I change the Computer Icon on my desk top back to the original - somehow i changed it to something wierd (a screen & pencil) 2. I also blew away my Desktop Icon that I had in the task bar. I can replace it but it always brings up the list of Desktop items not the desk top - see attachment your help would be greatly appreciated. RandyL Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 1. Right click an empty area of the desktop and select properties. On the Display Properties window click the Desktop tab. Next click on Customize Desktop. On the Desktop Items window click My Computer once to highlite it and click Change Icon. Select the icon you want and click OK as needed. 2. You might need to to re-create the Show desktop icon on the Quick Launch toolbar. Doug Knox has a fix that might work too. http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_showdesktop.htm Quote We are all members helping other members.
