Re: Memory

1GB of ram is more than enough for the average user.

Unless you do video and image editing, you won't notice any speed

increase by adding RAM.

Won't do a thing for you.

Re: Memory

Unless you use memory intensive applications like CAD/CAM, Video

Editing, Photoshop, very large spreadsheets or do very serious gaming

then you will probably be wasting your money. Few users even have a

need for or use a full 1GB of RAM and the added RAM may just go unused.

Look at the Commit Charge in your Task Manager and look at the Peak

Commit Charge to determinge how much RAM is potentially needed.

No, updating? memory will not make the machine faster. ADDING memory MAY

increase the the PC response IF the current memory is insufficient for

all the programs the user wishes to access concurrently.

It depends entirely on what apps you run and how you use your

computer. If you do very memory-intensive tasks like video editing or

photo-editing, more memory might help your performance.

For the great majority of Windows XP users, 1GB is already

considerably more than is needed, and adding more would do *nothing*

for you.
