Hi folks , Have the above laptop but cannot access the wireless router ? Try at work and it see's the router and says its connected , but when I browse no connection? Took it home , plug it into home router Brilliant , disconnect and try to connect , it see,s the router again and asks me for my key , put key in ( which is printed on the side of router that I am sitting next to ) and it says that its incorrect and requires either a 5 or 13 digit key ?

Took it back to work today and searched the net and done various tests and CMD commands but no go again says I am connected but no go ?

I note that when I press the internet button ( top left under screen) it comes up green " no wireless device " ..............Mmm I am not sure where to go from here ...any suggestions most welcome .. Obviously I am using another computer to post this so it may be difficult to get any info uploaded from the acer

regards

Hi and welcome to ExTS

I am a bit confused.

Confirm for me please:

1. You can connect OK at work.

2. You cannot connect at home.

3. When you are asked for the network Key - this is on your home network.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Hi again

Some laptops have a switch to control the wireless adapter - check to make sure yours is switched on.

Start > type in ......devmgmt.msc ......ENTER

Click the + next to network adapters

What is listed?

Are there any yellow exclamation marks or red Xs ?
