Guest Rockitman Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 I just installed a new 2003 Server. Installed the Admin pack on my pc but don't see the Remote Desktop connection utility that allows me to connect to my servers. Where do I get this?

Guest JohnB Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Re: Remote Desktop connection It usually comes with XP. Under Accessories/Communication. Guest Bruce Sanderson Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Re: Remote Desktop connection Remote Desktop Connection is not part of the adminpak.msi. It is a normal feature installed on all Windows 2003, XP, Vista and Server 2008 computer by default. There is normally a shortcut to it in Start, All Programs, Accessories. There is also an MMC snap-in - Remote Desktops - for viewing multiple remote desktop connections in one window. This is available on Windows Server 2003 and 2008 by default - it should be in Start, All Programs, Administrative Tools (for 2008, Start, All Programs, Administrative Tools, Terminal Services). Or as stated by Pegasus, you can launch a remote desktop connection using the mstsc program (which is the program launched by the default Remote Desktop Connection shortcut). -- Bruce Sanderson http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/ It's perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question. Guest Meinolf Weber Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Re: Remote Desktop connection Hello Rockitman, Adminpak doesn't include the Remote desktop connection. It is built in, just run mstsc on the run line to open it. Also make sure that the server has Remote desktop enabled and that the server has a password for the administrator if you use that account. Without password you can not connect with remote desktop.
