Is it possible to uninstal SP3 and return to SP2? After installing service

pack 3 I'm getting the above error with the following information:

szAppName:svchost.exe

szAppVer 5.1.2600.5512

SzModname:rpcess.dll

I have run spybot, adware, ccleaner, a2squared, avg virus protection, pctoos

spyware. Most of these have also run in safe mode. My computer is clean to

the best of my knowledge. The error happens after the notebook comes out of

hibernation. I then have about a minute to close programs and the computer

reboots. Can you suggest anything? I've looked in MS website for issues and

haven't had any success to date.

Re: uninstall SP3

SP3 didn't install that hijackware, Lanny, so uninstalling SP3 isn't going

to fix it.

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827315

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log

to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2

(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use (in

conjuction with some other utilities). HijackThis will NOT fix anything on

its own, but it will help you to both identify and remove any

hijackware/spyware with assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30,

http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22,

http://castlecops.com/forum67.html, or other appropriate forums for review

by an expert in such matters, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this

isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and

independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) computer repair shop.

That's not an SP3 file. Have you tried a scan with the newly released

Spybot version 1.6?

Also, are you sure the file not rpcss.dll and not rpcess.dll. Windows

DOES have rpcss.dll as a file.
