Hide/Show Google Search left hand column

A whole lot of users have posted complaints about the left hand junk nuisance column that Google so politely planted upon us so autocratically to pop up on every search. So we now have a left and right junk column.

 

Well, the solution is easy and instantaneous, but I can only speak for Firefox. For other browsers, you will have to o a bit of Googling.

 

Just install : - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/hideshow-google-left-hand-menu/

 

I have had this add-on for many months, works perfectly and is no trouble. It has a "show" and "hide" feature for you to select what you want.

For Firefox, I have the AddBlockPlus installed, that seems to get rid of both sides of junk on the Google search page. All nice and peaceful when I use Google.

AdBlockPlus is available as an add on from the usual sources via the Mozilla site.

I have ABP, had it for years, but at the time Google inserted that plague upon us, I did not know how to configure ABP to kill the L/H column - still don`t. So I installed the Add-on, it works great.

 

Am a bit annoyed with myself about not being able to do it by ABP, but nobody is perfect.

 

You know Nev, I have Googled all over the Net on this parasitic pest problem and apart from seeing all the moans and groans (there are a lot and some users get really verbal about it), I have not seen that a simple solution like ABP can solve the matter. Nobody seems to have come up with that in all the reading I have done.
