DHCP Server keeps logging Event 1020

Recommended Posts

Hello!

My DHCP Server logs the Event 1020. The Eventdescription states, that all of

the IP Addresses in the Scope are in use. I did setup an scope with just 2

IPs because I need to serve only 2 Guests every now and then with an IP.

Is there a way to suppress these Warnings? I did lookup the Registry

under(HKEY_Local_Machine\SYSTE;\CurrentControlSet\Services\DHCPServer\Parameter) but i didn't find an suitable Parameter to adjust.

Thanks for you help in advance.

Is it suitable to manage only 2 clients with DHCP? May manual IP assigning

be more simple and convenient? Or may DHCP reservation for these 2 clients

in other scopes (I mean DHCP reservation by MAC) be more appropriate?

Hi Michael,

its not a matter of convenience, the reason for this configuration lies in

the roaming of the devices mentioned earlier. I have certainly used an MAC

Reservation for security purposes.

All of the other network devices operate with static IPs which personally

prefer, but it is necessary to have these two IPs available via DHCP.
