When I boot XP pro I'm getting a dos screen which says:

RTING MSDOS.

I checked with the ISP because I just switched providers and they said the

this was a video card problem??? I'm not so sure. The only thing that's

changed is the ISP all I did was reboot the box.

Has anyone ever seen this before?

This is the tail end of "Starting MSDOS". Remove the floppy

disk or boot CD that you have in your floppy/CD drive.

Per Pegasus, DO you have a CD or floppy in one of hte drive when you

boot? If so, remove it and see what happens.

Re: Strange Message

You mean that when you are booted into Windows XP after Welcome Screen then

you see that MS-DOS windows.

If that is the case then possibly a startup entry has taken place and is

calling some Dos application at startup.

1. Click Start - Run - type MSCONFIG and press Enter key.

2. Click the Startup tab and uncheck any entry that you think is related to

that Windows.

If not sure then you can uncheck all the entries and restart and then check

each entry one by one.

Let us know!
