Guest Eli Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Windows 2008 terminal services When connecting to TS server thru remote app, printers don’t get redirected. If I connect directly thru RDP connection, then if I want to print, I’m able to see all my printers and printers on the server. If I use RemoteApp (when RDP pops-up to connect printers are selected), then I don’t see any printers at all. Any ideas?
Guest Morgan che Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 RE: Printers are not redirecting. Hi, Thanks for using this newsgroup. If printer redirection works fine using RDP client, let's focuse one RemoteApp. Please check the RemoteApp configuration to ensure that the printer redirection is enabled. 1. Open TS RemoteApp Manager. 2. Click "Change" in the "RDP Settings" part of "Overview" page. 3. Ensure that the "Printers" item is checked in the "Devices and resources" part of the "Common RDP Settings", and click OK. 4. Highlight an application item in the "RemoteApp Programs" list, and click "Create .rdp File". 5. Use the newly created .rdp file to establish a remote desktop connection to see whether it works. If the problem continues, please provide me the following information : 1. You mentioned that printer redirection works when you connect via RDP client; while it does not work via RemoteApp. Do you perform test on the same client, login as the same user, and connect to the same server? 2. Does this issue exist for all clients or just some of them? 3. Does this issue exist for all models of printers or just some of them? 4. Collect the System event log for further research. Thanks.
