Guest Dreamchaser Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Dear MVPs and all, Hey people. I have good news following my previous post. My exlorer.exe still crashes frequently with unknown fault module. I've tried the sfc /scannow and searched for viruses/malware/spyware using updated Symantec Corporate Edition 10.5, Spybot, as well as cleaning up the Trojan.Vundo using tools from Symantec. BUT, I can now replicate the crash. It happens whenever I exit My Computer, Control Panel, or any folders then I'll have an error screen it restarts explorer.exe. Pored over solutions on the net and set "Launch folder windows in a separate process". Problem solved but now it crashes whenever I close the Network Connection window (Start > Connect to > Show all Connections). The desktop flicker for a split second (just like when we press F5 to refresh it) before error message appear. Could you all please assist me? Thank you.

Thank you. with all the time you've spent trying to fix it, and even when you get it "fixed" you don't know what other things will be broken, you could have wiped and reinstalled Windows and your applications. There is not Symantec 10.5 version, there is 10.1.5, and 10.1.5 has known issues with files in a network, such as a roaming profile. If you have 10.1.5 then you should also have access to their download site where you can get 10.1.7 maintenance release - get it. -- - Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum. - Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist" spam999free@rrohio.com (remove 999 for proper email address)
