toodumb2help Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 hi, ive got a problem with my samsung s2 1tb which suddenly stopped working. Tried unplugging etc, reinstalling drivers but nothing works. it shows up on my hardware devices with no problems but cant access it to reformat which would normally be my 1st port of call as i've resigned myself to losing any files i've got on there. any help would be greatly appreciated. have also tried chkdsk with command prompt but gives the message "cannot open volume for direct access". thanks in advance Quote
KenB Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Hi and welcome to ExTS Plug the drive in. Start > Run ...type in .....diskmgmt.msc ......ENTER Is the drive listed there? ( It should be Disk 1 or similar ) If so are the partitions shown and are they "Healthy" "Active" ?? KenB Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 i take it this is not good news? It should show in Disk Management. You say it shows in "Hardware Devices" Is this via Device Manager? Start > Run .....devmgmt.msc ....ENTER Click the + next to Disk Drives Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
