windows explorer issue

when I open windows explorer it just hangs with a partial window.

I have to us Task manager to close it down.

 

I use a link with the following

 

explorer /e, /n, d:\

 

in the command line.

If I take out the switches it works fine without a folders pane.

If I click FOLDERS on the toolbar it hangs again

 

If I open it with the orignal link in the start menu everything works

fine.

 

I'm puzzled.
