keyboard error when locking the machine

Hi all -

Lock my machine several times a day using (win key & L) when I walk away

from the desk. When I come back, I put in my password and I'm in.

Sometimes, though, I get an error when putting in my password, that the

caps lock in on. I cannot turn caps lock off, and can't get back in to the

machine,

so end up shutting it down.

Is extra annoying because I run an emulator window to an AS400 , and the

400 doesn't always let be back in right away.

Any ideas ? Thanks -

Mike

Why can't you turn off Caplock? Is it indicated as being on, on the

keyboard? Is the keyboard responding correctly or is the system trying

to power it off in power saving. Check the Power management tab for it

in Device manager an also if it is USB check the ports for the same

thing. UNcheck Allow computer to turn off to save power.

Also, the Shift key would reverse any Caps lock output, so pressing

Shift as you type in the password _should_ give you lower case.
