Guest Ola Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 This problem occured the first time first of august. I belive it was after automatic updates. When starting the server the following message pops up: "At least one driver or service failed to start during system startup." When looking in Services most of the automatic services are stopped. It is not possible to start them. After some searching I found this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956189 Thought that was the problem.. But it does not work after reserving ports and uninstalling updates. Its also recommended to reinstall SP2, but it seams I can not do that since the "cryptographic service" is stopped. Any advice?
Guest Phillip Windell Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Re: Most services does not start Something that messed up,....call MS Support Services. They do not charge for problems caused by Service Packs or Patches. "Remind" them that they aren't supposed to charge for that when you call. 1-800-936-4900 -- Phillip Windell http://www.wandtv.com The views expressed, are my own and not those of my employer, or Microsoft, or anyone else associated with me, including my cats. ----------------------------------------------------- "Ola" <Ola@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:9F81CBCC-64C6-4098-8771-2F48BCEBCDEE@microsoft.com... > This problem occured the first time first of august. Guest Ola Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Re: Most services does not start I called. They told me to wait for 8 hours. If I paid (a lot) I would only have to wait 2 hours. So, if they can help me I could wait. But if not, I would rather start re-installing right away.. Thanks for the tip anyway! Guest Phillip Windell Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Re: Most services does not start Then call them back and get a different idiot on the phone that has more sense. Problems related to Service Packs or Security Patches there is no charge because it is "Microsoft's fault" that it happened. -- Phillip Windell http://www.wandtv.com The views expressed, are my own and not those of my employer, or Microsoft, or anyone else associated with me, including my cats. ----------------------------------------------------- "Ola" <Ola@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E8ACFF40-3DEC-4566-9827-86EF610F7CF4@microsoft.com... >I called. > > They told me to wait for 8 hours. Almost sounds like the password for the account used to start the services is changed.... Check to see what account is used to start them... -- Regards, Hank Arnold Microsoft MVP Windows Server - Directory Services
