Guest mondeoman Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 The internet connection status icon is continually showing that my computer is sending data. When I click on it and check the details of the status it shows it is sending about 100 bytes per second. This did not happen before, or if it did send whilst I was not active on the computer it would only be for a brief period. Now it is sending continuously. I have run Adaware and Norton 360 scans and found no problems. Help please.
Guest PA Bear [MS MVP] Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Re: Internet connection status icon on all the while I'd contact Symantec Support about this before doing anything else. N360 is constantly "talking" with home base. mondeoman wrote: > The internet connection status icon is continually showing that my > computer > is sending data. Guest mondeoman Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Re: Internet connection status icon on all the while Thanks PA bear. Good idea. I have just checked with Nortons live support. There view was that if Norton is saying the computer is safe to ignore it, but to check what other programmes are running. I know it still does this when no applications are shown as running in Windows task manager. So I am not so confident, but hey, I am no expert. Guest mondeoman Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Re: Internet connection status icon on all the while Thanks AW, I will try this once I have checked I still have the codes to download it again. I have tried just turning Norton off using the the Norton menus and it made no difference. 00.45 a.m. here, so will try after some shut eye.
