Guest Kenneth Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 \ Howdy, If I click to "View Available Wireless Networks" the list populates with one correct network, but also includes several that are not, in fact, available. Those that are not available includes networks that I had logged on to at an earlier time, and at other locations. Why would they be listed as "available", and might there be a way to eliminate them from the list? Many thanks, -- Kenneth If you email... Please remove the "SPAMLESS."

Yes, they do appear, and that happens without regard to my location. Thanks for your thoughts, -- Kenneth If you email... Please remove the "SPAMLESS."

You should get a screen that looks like this: http://screenshots.modemhelp.net/screenshots/Windows_XP/Network_Connections/Wireless_Network_Connection/Properties/Wireless_Networks/Index.shtml Delete all of the entries in the list of Preferred networks except the ones that are for networks to which you regularly connect. Don't worry if you delete one that you might later use. Each time you click "Connect" from the "Choose a Wireless Network" screen, that network gets added to the top of the list of preferred networks. -- Lem -- MS-MVP To the moon and back with 2K words of RAM and 36K words of ROM. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Guidance_Computer http://history.nasa.gov/afj/compessay.htm
