Guest Gerald Bramwell Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Hi all,, Every time Windows XP Home SP2 starts on my PC I get an error message stating 'Scheduled.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Has anyone any ideas as to what might be causing the problem. I have tried to look on the CD for the file but cannot find it,how can I replace it. Thanks Gerald
Guest R. McCarty Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Re: Scheduled.exe problem Scheduled.Exe isn't a standard component of Windows XP. It is a process from MSI for Video capture. You need to verify you have this software and either update it or remove the startup call from the PC. SysInternals' AutoRuns can help you review what is starting on your PC when it boots up. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx As a general rule, never assume your PC is free of "Baddies". It's a good idea to run alternate vendor, on-line scans of your PC. Here are two good scans to consider: Kaspersky: http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner NOD32: http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/ "Gerald Bramwell" <ged.bee@invalid.address> wrote in message news:OIK8JK79IHA.3940@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Hi all,, > > Every time Windows XP Home SP2 starts on my PC I get an error message > stating 'Scheduled.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
