Guest Dave Mc Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I have been installing a new server to which I have connected a USB external hard drive. For the first time yesterday, I rebooted the server with the USB drive alraedy attached and my heart almost stopped when I got the ntldr not found message. I then unplugged the usb drive and the server booted up normally. Why would the server try to boot from the usb drive--is it probably a Bios setting ??
Guest A W Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 RE: ntldr not found Yes in deedy, its very probably a bios setting telling it to try and boot the USB first. But thats an odd option to have on a server?? "Dave Mc" wrote: > I have been installing a new server to which I have connected a USB external > hard drive. Guest Meinolf Weber Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Re: ntldr not found Hello Dave, It's default in HP servers to boot from USB first. Also see it often in my servers.
