Guest Saara Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Instead, it gives me this message: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this..." Does anyone know what this is and what I can do? My family thinks it's a virus but I'm not quite sure about that.
Guest Chris Partridge Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 RE: My PC Won't Start After I Turn It On... Try the following: When you start the computer, press the F8 key. This will bring up a menu and select the one that says "Last Known Successfull Load.." or something like that. That should get you back to the desktop hopefully. Guest Saara Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 RE: My PC Won't Start After I Turn It On... I would try the F8 thing, but when my PC brings me to that menu, none of the options work. Guest hvcool Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 RE: My PC Won't Start After I Turn It On... I tried everything but what worked for me was F8 start safemode with command prompt n run a chkdsk /F restart at reboot YES :) might work majority of the time :) "Saara" wrote: > I would try the F8 thing, but when my PC brings me to that menu, none of the > options work. > > "Saara" wrote: > > > Instead, it gives me this message: > > "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. > > A recent hardware or software change might have caused this..." > > > > Does anyone know what this is and what I can do?
