I put in a new graphic card in my PC. When I put the computer on I get the message that 'windows did not start successfullly'.

It doesn't matter whether I choose safe mode, start normally, safe mode with command prompt etc, I keep coming back to this screen.

When I first tried to find out what was wrong with the computer I had removed the hard drive, but did put it back in. Any ideas what I need to

do now please

Hi, a couple of things, if you removed the hard drive and replaced, is check that the connections and cables are fully connected first.

Secondly will the computer start OK with the new graphics card removed, assuming the motherboard has the normal simple graphic chips installed?

Hi mandy

I assume you did a Repair Install of XP and not a complete re-install ?

It may help others if you can explain what you did to get your system up-and-running again :)

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

My friend had a recovery disk from his pc. I literally put this in and waited for it to load and followed the pc's instructions.

It took a while to load and there were lots of restarts, but the pc is running great now.
