Server time question

Hi All,

 

i have a windows 2000 SP4 member server that i want to change the date/time

to any time i want, but after a few seconds it goes back to the the domain

time. any ideas? thanks

Hello JamesRussel,

 

That's correct behaviour. In a domain all machines need to have the same

time, max difference is 5 minutes.

It needs the domain time in order to authenticate. If you need to change the

time for any reason, you should take it out of the domain,

but why this is possible on the workstation that is also a member in the

domian? do they have different settings?

but why i can do this on the workstation, do they have a different settings?

or is they a way to stop synchronization?
