Installing x64 to replace Server Standard R2 32-bit

I'd like to upgrade an existing server to 64-bit; I want to use more than 3.5

gigs of ram. (Without having to buy new software.)

The current server is running on an OEM install on an HP server. If it's

anything like XP, I would normally need an OEM install CD to match the key.

I've upgraded Vista computers to 64-bit and used the same license key, will

this work for Server? Anyone know where I'd get the software?

Thanks for the help!

Hello TomSullivan,

Upgrading to 64bit from 32bit is not possible, you have to reinstall the OS.

Thanks for the reply,

Reinstalling isn't a problem. The problem is if I can use my OEM 32-bit

Key/license with a 64-bit version. And where could I get the software for

that?
