Hi and welcome to ExTS

I hope you have some sort of AntiVirus software installed ?

Starbuck, one of our Security Experts, produced a very good set of options here:

Please be aware that it is not advised to run 2 AVs at the same time - they will conflict.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Avast, Avira and AVG are the best.

But not all at once!!!

Avast and Avira i can go along with, Avg isn't the best kid on the block from past experience.

The link given by KenB will explain things.

But at the end of the day ..... it's what suits you and your system.

I second using either avast or avira. They both are free for home use, frequently updated and don't bog down your system.

No antivirus is 100% effective however...behavior is important. E.g., downloading cracked software or using a file sharing /peer-to-peer software without knowing who you're connecting to will likely get you infected pretty quick even with a good antivirus running.

Hi

I like Microsoft Security Essentials

Been using it for a few months now and had no problems so far.
