bishvabis Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I would like an antivirus software program that is the newest and has the best protection, if possible. Quote
KenB Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Hi and welcome to ExTS I hope you have some sort of AntiVirus software installed ? Starbuck, one of our Security Experts, produced a very good set of options here: http://extremetechsupport.com/threads/12498-What-free-security-would-you-advise-for-a-newbie Please be aware that it is not advised to run 2 AVs at the same time - they will conflict. jevsteralija Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Avast, Avira and AVG are the best. They are all updated frequently and will cost you zero dollars. Quote Kaspersky Coupon Codes
Starbuck Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Avast, Avira and AVG are the best. But not all at once!!! Avast and Avira i can go along with, Avg isn't the best kid on the block from past experience. The link given by KenB will explain things. But at the end of the day ..... it's what suits you and your system. Quote Member of:UNITE
etavares Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I second using either avast or avira. They both are free for home use, frequently updated and don't bog down your system. No antivirus is 100% effective however...behavior is important. E.g., downloading cracked software or using a file sharing /peer-to-peer software without knowing who you're connecting to will likely get you infected pretty quick even with a good antivirus running. jantanik Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Avast! Free Antivirus is my new top pick for the best free antivirus software in light of recent developments. Avast has steadily been improving its detection rates over the past few years and now ranks with the some of the best. Quote change ip address | vpn mobile | vpn iphone

vamp Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 I'd go for nod 32 or zone alarm or yes avast these are the one's I'd look at first but plz do not go to peer-to-peer networks most of what you download has a virous in it to start with or contains a hacking file Quote
