KenB Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 You need to give us more feedback otherwise we are not going to get anywhere fast. you didn't answer this: Start > Run ....type in ....devmgmt.msc ......ENTER Click the + next to Network Adapters What is listed ? Are there any yellow exclamation marks or red Xs ? This is important. 2wire att router From what I can gather they make quite a few - the model number would help. Do any computers work with this router? Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
PCbasics Posted December 12, 2011 Author Posted December 12, 2011 okay, there are yellow marks next to it. im not sure about router model number but it is a 2wire att gateway router Quote
KenB Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 okay, there are yellow marks next to it. You STILL have not told me what is listed in Device Manager when you click the + next to Network Adapters. So, working with limited information..... Right click whatever is listed and select "Update Driver Software" If you have a disk with the drivers on you need to put this in now. You need to find the drivers for the Network Card. The yellow ! is telling you that there is a problem. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! PCbasics Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 Now the ! Is gone and it says it is working properly and in network connections it says it is connected. But I still have no connection. Quote
Bluesplayer. Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Try. Click on the Start button>Run Type cmd Then type ipconfig /all Note the space after ipconfig Post back what is listed. Quote
KenB Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 In addition to Bluesplayer's suggestion ..... Can you try another computer wired to the router? If this is OK the problem lies with your PC - If the second computer cannot connect it is the Router or ISP. Bluesplayer. Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 The yellow exclamation mark to be there one minute and gone the next - may mean the driver needs updating. Go to the NVIDIA website. Download NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Adapter driver onto a working Pc - then to say a USB stick and install on the none working Pc. Quote
KenB Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 An internal error has occured: The request is not supported unable to query host name From what I have read this is most likely related to TCPIP.sys being corrupt.
