KenB Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Hi and welcome to ExTS There are a few pieces of software you can try. Try Recuva first: http://www.piriform.com/recuva DO NOT install it on the drive that you have just formatted. Install it on the drive that has Windows on it then get the Recuva software to access the formatted drive - if it can. DO NOT add anything at all to the formatted drive. If you do the documents that you want will be completely overwritten. There are no guarantees - you may get something back. larry_jackson77 Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Hello, You can restore your hard drive and get back the documents which were deleted while formatting. This can be done by data recovery software. As you said, you have saved your movies, there might be chances of documents being overwritten. Download recovery software, then verify if you can see your documents and recover them. Hope it works.:) Spam links removed by KenB

BeeCeeBee Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Pardon me for being a cynic but is always suspicious when a member joins and posts a question like this and then another member joins on the same day and supplies an answer. It becomes even more suspicious when the answer is not only going to cost you money but is also given to you by way of 2 separate links. If I were a member reading thisI would not venture beyond recova (see KenB's post above) without seeking a lot more advice. "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
KenB Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 BeeCeeBee - you are correct. They are one and the same person. "Both" are banned. I have left the thread so that others can see that not all advice on forums is "good".
