Guest Abimantrana Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 hi everyone.. i'm having a trouble logging on to my computer.. every time i try to log on to windows, i keep having this error message: "The system cannot log you on due to the following error: Error performing inpage operation Please try again or consult your system administrator" i already tried to boot into safe mode, and try logging in with all accounts including the administrator account, but i'm still having the same error message.. Can anyone help me with this problem?? would really appreciate it.. thanks!

Try turning off the delayed write feature (or similar) in the BIOS. If this is a recent problem, it may indicate an impending hard disk failure.

Typing "Error performing inpage operation" into a Google search box gives you more than 4,000 hits such as this one: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/141117 As HeyBub said, you're probably dealing with a disk error. You could try booting into the Recovery Console and run the chkdsk command. If you haven't backed up your important files then this is the time to do it (and to review your backup policy . . .). There are techniques that give you access to your folders even when Windows won't start.
