Guest chamois988 Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I've read many of the threads about changing the default folder when Win Explorer is opened to another folder. Presumably My Documents is the default, but in my case, it isn't!! I just got a new PC and it defaults to the Start Up folder. I know how to change the target link to the C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents BUT I would prefer if it opened up at the very top, with the My Documents standard icon right underneath Desktop, instead of further down the tree under Local Disk>Document Settings>etc. Anyone know what to do?
Guest Gel Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Re: Win Explorer does NOT default to My Documents D/load this useful tool; http://www.mrtech.com/mrsystray/ Changing file paths is one of the settings in OPTIONS. Guest chamois988 Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Re: Win Explorer does NOT default to My Documents I'm sorry Gel, but I don't feel comfortable downloading free/shareware, I don't know anything about this site. Hi chamois988 Try copying and pasting this line into the Target field of the shortcut: %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,::{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103} Hope this helps :-) Let us know how it goes. -- Nightowl
