Server Standard 2003; I want more than 4gb ram!

I asked a question earlier about installing Server Standard 64-bit, but no

one told me if I can use the same license for both editions.

Second, is there a way to run more than 4gb of ram on the 32-bit version. It

seems pretty arbitrary that the enterprise version can use /PAE and Standard

can't. Is there some sort of 3rd party software that can do this? I don't

need all the extra stuff that enterprise comes with, nor do I want to pay

that much for it.

Thanks for your time!

AFAIK you can not use the same license for 32 bit and 64 bit.

If you did find a third party app to do what you want I would have my doubts

that MS would support such a configuration.................Nor would I trust

that server in production. Most likely any support MS would supply would be

"remove the third party software and we can talk"

You: "OK I removed it"

MS : OK Windows 2003 Standard does not support more than 4 GB of RAM you

need to upgrade to the Enterprise version".

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, that's just as I suspected.

....I wish people would listen to me when I tell them that Linux is the way

to go; free and less complicated.
