Guest Don J Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I have two installations of Win'XP. One has "Add or Remove Programs" installed and one does not. In the case of the one that has it installed it appears as a specific item on the takbar. Opening it up shows a single list of all running programs. By selecting any particular item on the list, it open it up, and there are one or two buttons. The button marked Delete is always there. The button marked Modify is sometimes there. By pressing the Delete Button one is able to delete the selected program. I know of a "Task Manager" look alike that has many of the same features of "Add or Remove Programs". But on my system the "Task Manager" version doesn't seem to work properly. I don't know where I got it but I would like to add "Add or Remove Programs" to the installation that currently does't have it. Any help would be appreciated. Guest Don J Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Re: Add or Remove Programs "Add or Remove Programs" was exactly what I was lookiing for. It turns out that I had a program that wasn't behaving properly. It was designed to run continually. If I exited Win'XP, it was designed to restart when Win'XP restarted again. Imagine my frustration when the program started misbehaving and I couldn't stop it and restart it again. I tried "Taskmaster", but found that "End Process" didn't quite work as expected. The Process seemed to be removed, but when I went over to the program to reinstall it, it was still running. Then I tried "Add or Remove Programs", and it worked perfectly. Guest Don J Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Re: Add or Remove Programs I stopped the program. That stopped it from misbehaving. Then I restarted it, And it ran perfectly.
