al_hp Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I'm also finding it a painful experience looking at options for my HP s3040. Looking to have dual-monitor support (DMS59), so want to upgrade from the Nvidia 7300LE to a Nvidia Quadro NVS 290, Could you please let me know if this will work? It looks as if it will but just want to confirm. Quote
KenB Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Is this your motherboard? Click Here If so - it is microATX small form factor. 7.5 inch x 6.7 inch The Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 is 6.6 inch long and is a low profile ( small form factor ) card. The PCIe slot looks to be reasonably accessible and if you have any space at the back of the motherboard ( at the RAM end ) all to the good, This card is virtually the same size as the width of the motherboard. The card has 1 HDMI ( DMS59 ) output. DMS-59 supports two DVI Single Link digital channels or two VGA analog channels on low profile cards. You would need an adapter if you wanted to run one or two DVI or VGA monitors. I assume that you are aware that this is not really suitable for gaming ? If the card length is going to fit on the m/board then it should do what you want - with the addition of an adapter.
