Software can not find CD/DVD burner

I have a HP Pavilion note book with a HL-DT-ST-GSA-4084N CD/DVD burner. Just

recently my burning software will no longer recognize the drive. I have

tried reinstalling the software, uninstalling and reinstalling the drive, and

swapping the drive with the same model from another computer. The problem

still persists. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Is the drive displayed when you open "my computer" or does it not show up

like when you are using the burning software?

If not run this registry edit and reboot.
