Guest William Stokes Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Hello, ...Or atleast it stopped working approximately at the same time SEP was installed. No other config changes were made to that particular client or DHCP server so I suppose this failure is because of SEP installation. Details are below. Please note that Sep=Symantec Endpoint Protection Client v11. I push installed SEP client to about 40 XP desktops and all went well. Also push installed it to 1 XP laptop (Dell optiplex D830) with Kerio personall firewall enabled over night. After this, the following day, the laptop user reported that network is not working. Ok, I checked the laptop to find out that it cannot aquire IP address from DHCP server. With manual IP config all works well. At the same network there's 10 other PC's using that same DHCP server service without problems. These PC's were also upgraded with SEP. I have tried everyhing I can imagine to get it working with no success. Here's a list of the remedies I tried with no success: -Uninstalled Kerio Personal Firewall -Uninstalled SEP -Checked that XP's firewall is disabled. -Uninstall/reinstall network adapter. -Re-install&Update driver from Dell and from Broadcomm. -Removed/re-joined computer from/to domain. -Renamed computer. -Deleted Winsock from registry -Re-installed TCP/IP protocol -Re-installed XP over the old installation. (Repair install) -Installed XP SP3 None of which worked. The laptop is still unable to obtain IP from DHCP server! I can't find any relevant error messages from clint or server event logs. Is there anything else to try ? All I can think at this point is format+re-install OS. Have anyone else here experienced similar problems ?? Thanks
