Everybody who knows about Google also knows that this body of junior bean-brains are addicted to putting crap on our browsers that we have no option of deleting. They bask in their autocratic world of "Take it or Leave it" like some Banana Republic Dictator.

Well luckily for us, their are people around who can screw up Google`s dictatorial attitude in some cases, but not always.

I have an add-on that deletes the Google irrelevant screwball L/H side panel on their search perfectly.

Now, these morons have placed a blue bar on the search that invites us to SHARE something. It says "Click here to start sharing on Google+" and there is no option of getting rid of this parasitic piece of crap.

Can anybody advise users how to dump this latest brainstorm of these idiotic Google juvenile delinquents into the crap bin it deserves ?

Oh boy ! How many thousands of users will jump for joy if it works.

PSTOP PRESS !

I use Firefox and have ABP. After a lot of fumbling around on the web, looking all over the place., I found a tweak that when entered into ABP as a hide element - DELETES this damned blue bar and it`s stupid sharing matter. It works fine and the blue bar is now GONE !!

You simply click Preferences on ABP, then Add Filter (copy/paste) and enter, then click Apply and OK. Don`t forget to enable all the hide elements. To summarise these elements are :-

google.com###gbx2

google.com###gbx1

google.com###gbpr

##DIV#gbprw <========= This is the one that worked for me using Firefox.

My screen shot of the ABP hide elements is below. The one with the red dot is that which deletes the blue scourge, but it does no harm to enter the others since some systems work with one of the other options.

Whew ! Problem solved until those jerks at Google come up with another PITA. It was pure luck me finding the answer by browsing the web and I am sorry to raise th OP, but this answer will hellp all those poor users (and there are a lot of them) that are fuming mad at this infernal blue bar being plonked on their Google Homepage search screen by an inconsiderate bunch of nitwits.

A shame there isn't ABP available for all the other browsers, I also have been using it for a long time to be rid of all the other nuisance adverts.

Thanks for finding the way to block that blue meany of Googles, though quite often ABP itself sticks a little "Block this" box up on the right just above any image such as that when you hover the mouse pointer over it. Just a matter then of clicking on the box and it is gone.

If you don't see the Block box, then a right click on the image will give you the option to block the image too.

However, for the blue meany, you have to do it the way you found.

Another option might be to use a different search engine. 'DuckDuck Go' is becoming more popular these days but the one I'm using is 'StartPage'. This is as bit like Scroogle in as much as it enhanced by Google search.

https://startpage.com/

I can't say I feel the same anger about the changes to the Google page. It's not as if there's any cash asked from users and I gratefully accept the free service. It is a pretty good search engine too and changes to the page don't affect search results.

That`s a great reply and very amusing. Actually the Duck-Duck search looks OK and works perfectly. No reason at all why it should not be used.

Another search engine is http://www.dogpile.com/

When I voice these irritating Googlies, I am never alone. After browsing the web I always find a mass of other users moaning about the same thing, sometimes very in volatile terms.

When a designer puts oddments on a system like the one I posted about, there should always be an option provided to either hide it or delete it. Google almost never provide this option for their customers, it is the autocratic attitude of "We know best, take it or leave it". That is simply not good enough. Whether the system is free or not is absolutely irrelevent.

It isn't just Google who have the attitude of "We will change what we like whether you like it or not" Microsoft is notorious for it and quite a lot of other paid for stuff too, never mind the multitude of free ware out there.

I'll concede the free/paid for point but I'd say not to think that those angry or upset by what they consider is a detrimental move by Google are the majority. It's only those who mind the changes that are likely to write into forums and say so. Naturally they are going to form 99% of posters. This will be but a small percentage of all those using Google though.

Also, how can companies ask everyone if they mind changes being made? Even if they could or did, some would be in favour, some wouldn't be in favour and some wouldn't care one way or the other. No definite poll result to go by.

Personally, if I used Google all the time, I wouldn't find a couple of bars at the top of a search page upsetting at all.
