Guest George Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 (Cross-posted in microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support) I used to have 6 icons in the Notification area (system tray) in one single row. After a drive reformat and reinstall of XP, the 6 icons are now in two rows of 3 each, and I can't figure out how to get them back into 1 row as before. I know it's no big deal, but if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'll appreciate it. Thanks, George
Guest Rajiv Kohli Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Re: Notification area (system tray) It seems that you have increase the size of your Taskbar. 1. First unlock your taskbar if it is already locked. Right-click on an empty area of your Taskbar and uncheck Lock the Taskbar. 2. Move your mouse pointer near to end of the border of your Taskbar and your pointer will be change to double-sided arrow. 3. Hold down the left mouse click and then decrease the size. Sometimes, it is not so easy for novice users as the Quick Launch toolbar or any other available toolbar on the Taskbar can cause problem in decreasing the size. For this, first unlock the Taskbar and you will notice 2 lines in suffix and prefix to the that toolbar. If both lines on right position then just draging the taskbar will decrease the size otherwise you will need to play a little bit with those lines to set them in right position or you may check someone else computer to check their positions. Hope this help, let us know!
