KenB Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I have merged your two posts as they seem related. I got my pc upgraded Presumably your problems all started when you had this done? if so - have you spoken with the person who did the "upgrading" ? Aldaz108 Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 should I go back to the shop and ask? could it have been me when it came up about network and stuff Quote
KenB Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 should I go back to the shop and ask? I would think this would be a good idea. Give them a ring and explain your problem. If it has never been OK since the upgrade then it seems to me that they have missed something. Let us know what they suggest. Aldaz108 Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 ok I haven't been yet but do you think resetting the router will help? and how would I do this I know you find the little hole in the back but do I leave everything on while doing it? like my dads and my computers or do I turn them off? Quote
KenB Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I don't think this is a router problem. How much RAM do you have installed? Start > type in ....winver....ENTER It should say "Physical Memory Available" Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! Aldaz108 Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 I had a graphics upgraded from GTX 220 to GTX 560 NOT Ti bigger power supply and well extra 4 gig what makes 8 thats all oh I got a 64bit os put back on Quote
KenB Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Thanks for that information. I suspect the RAM. Switch off at the wall but leave the plug in. Take the side panel off the tower. Locate the RAM modules and take out the new ones. There is a lever at each end that just needs to be moved away from the module and it will pop out. ( to re-install make a note of the position of the notch and the module will push back into place. The levers will click into place automatically) Try the machine with the old RAM in. Shut down normally and switch off again at the wall. Take the old RAM out and try the new RAM. If there is a difference there is probably a fault with one of the new RAM modules. KenB Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Your pc is slow Your dad's pc is slow. Your X-Box is slow. It looks like a connection problem. Try speedtest from here: http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/ What is the download speed ? Also - ask your ISP to check the line for you ...............it may be a fault at their end.
