HELP!!! I have an old Windows 98 Second Edition. Do I have to buy a newer

version, like Vista, to be able to download Livewire Messenger? My browser

says it can't connect to the internet. I just don't understand this anymore.

Any suggestions other than buying a newer computer? Thanks for any help I can

get!

Win98 should be able to connect just fine. You'll have to check your

network cable, router, cable modem, whatever you use to connect.

RE: Downloads

As Tim, says Windows 98 SE works fine on the Internet and it is actually now

my primary operating system because of all the DNS Poison associated with Dan

K's research. Anyway, Windows 98 Second Edition is great.

Remember, that if you go over 512 megabytes then you will have issues even

with using the proper memory management strategies as outlined in this

website. I tried it with 2 gigabytes and 98 Second Edition just continued to

choke on that much memory at least for me. I am sure it partly is because I

have an ATI Radeon 9800 XT and that has 256 megabytes memory as well.

Anyway, let us know all about your computer and any error messages you have

so we can help you. Here is a website about managing your memory in Windows

98 Second Edition as well. Grateful thanks to the author(s) of this website.
