Guest Fev Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Hi I would appreciate some advice on the following: I would like to turn off the Write cache setting on my harddrive, but am unable to do this through Device manager as this causes a Delayed Write error when I try to launch the applet. The settings on the Policies tab for the drive are "greyed" out. According to my current research in this group and generally on the Internet, I understand that I need to change the setting in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet \Services\Lanman server\Parameters What I am not sure about is which option in this key needs to be set to 0. Is it the default? I am running Win Xp Home SP3. Thanks Heather
